Height of the tree: 26 cm

Height of the tree with the pot: 32 cm

Circumference of the nebari (base): 13 cm

Characteristics

Deciduous tree (loses its leaves in winter). It belongs to the Rosaceae family.

Native to Europe, it is highly valued for its small white flowers in spring.

Exposure

The St. Lucie Cherry is a tree that should be placed in full sun. It withstands frost well, but it is recommended to protect it from temperatures below -5°C.

Watering

Abundant in summer and moderate in winter.

Pruning

Structural pruning is generally done in late autumn, though some prefer to do it at the end of winter after flowering. Green pruning or pinching, on the other hand, takes place during the growth period from April-May until the end of autumn.

Fertilizer

From spring to autumn with liquid or solid fertilizer, chemical or organic, according to your preference.

Repotting

Repotting is done every 2 or 3 years depending on the condition of the substrate and the water drainage through the pot. We recommend a draining substrate such as akadama, an akadama-pumice mix, or a zeolite-chabasite mix.

Particularity

In Arabic, Mahlab means “the cherry”.
